Tennis

Tennis is a racket sport played between either two players (singles) or two teams of two players each (doubles). The game is played on a rectangular court divided by a net, with players using strung rackets to hit a lightweight, hollow rubber ball covered with felt over the net. The objective is to score points by successfully hitting the ball in a way that the opponent is unable to return it within the court’s boundaries. Points are scored in a series of games, and games are aggregated into sets, with the overall match won by the player or team that first wins a predetermined number of sets. Tennis combines elements of agility, strategy, and skill, and is played on various surfaces, including grass, clay, and hard courts. It is governed by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) and is a popular sport globally, featuring major tournaments such as the Grand Slam events: the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
